WHEN WE GOT ENGAGED

HOW IT HAPPENED
Nievita took John to Disneyland for his birthday, which was October 6th. The day seemed to start slowly, going through Tomorrowland, Space Mountain, Sleeping Beauty's Castle, It's a Small World, etc. Most of Fantasyland was closed, so no Flying Dumbo or Teacups. They headed over to Frontierland and New Orleans and got on the Mark Twain steamboat that goes around Huck Finn's island.
About halfway around the island John started giving Nievita a speech about how much he loved her and... she honestly can't remember what he said because John pulled her around and dropped to one knee and pulled a ring box out of his pocket and she stood there agape thinking that she's supposed to be saying something after he says, "Will you marry me?"
She nodded and maybe gulped out a word or two and then John swung her around and he was announcing to everyone around them that he had just proposed and she had just accepted and everyone was clapping and congratulating them and a gorgeous ring was being put on her finger.

Whew.
The rest of the day was a blur and if there weren't pictures to prove it happened it would still seem like a dream.
